Why gloss changes a room’s proportions

A gloss membrane reflects roughly 70% of incident light. Pendant lamps double themselves in the surface, windows pour daylight back down, and the eye reads the reflection as extra volume — which is why a 2.7 m condo ceiling suddenly feels like 3.5 m.

Specification at a glance

Gloss membranes are 0.18 mm PVC, certified B-s1,d0 fire class and rated to hold up to 100 litres of water per square metre in the event of a leak from above. Installation uses a perimeter aluminium track with harpoon-edge welding; the membrane is heated to 60°C, hooked and tensioned drum-tight. Downlights, fans and cassette aircon units are supported with hidden reinforcement platforms.

Cleaning is a wipe with a microfibre cloth. The finish carries our 12-year written warranty against sagging, discolouration and weld failure.
